Born in São Martinho de Anta (Vila Real). Pseudonym of Adolfo Correia da Rocha. Graduate in Medicine at Coimbra University in 1937. Poet, writer, novelist, playwright, diarist and essayist. Winner of the Prémio Camões. He is the «reincarnation of the classic mythical poet - the poet who lives in intimacy with elemental forces (earth, sun, wind and water) and celebrates them in his song.» (David Mourão-Ferreira ).
